I had the pleasure of going on a weekend getaway last weekend. We were treated to a weekend in Orlando, Florida by my boyfriends (Todd) boss. It was a great time and I highly recommend the Royal Pacific Resort in the Universal Studio area. One of the things that are great about well run properties is that they seem to run smooth on the outside. Over the course of 3 days every single person affiliated with the resort was nice. Not syrupy sweet fake nice, but genuinely friendly and helpful nice. And they somehow managed to make it seem like you weren’t in a building with several thousand other people. It was obvious that they appreciated our business and were happy to be working at their given job. I have done a little traveling over the years and trust me, some people or places are not that friendly to outsiders. I am not sure if they feel like people are intruding on their turf or if somehow they feel that they were “burned” by a tourist but, it makes the trip less enjoyable if you are not having a fun time because of circumstances beyond your control.
