Thank a Property Manager

Thank a Property Manager

Rental property managers, finish this sentence. I am thankful I am a property manager because. This is a rough time of year for rental property managers. The work is harsh, and usually goes unappreciated. When it snows, they are breaking their back shoveling so tenants keep their feet nicely warm and dry. When the temperature falls below zero, they are fixing a fence to keep the bad guys out. The falling temperature drops the patient level in tenants, so rental property managers are solving tenant versus tenant disputes along with tenant versus landlord disputes. They are fixing cracked pipes from the freezing water. And they are frustrated with tenants who are still penniless from the holidays and cannot pay their rent. So, that is why you need to write a thankful letter, to remind yourself why you love your job. It is very easy to get trapped in a rut because the worst things about a job always overshadow best things. Now, get a pen and paper and write. Fine, we will do it for you.

Sit back, relax, and get comfortable. Let all the negative thoughts about a rental property managers job to disappear. If you think of one, just let it pass right through you. Now vision the positive things about your work. Believe it or not, rental property managers are appreciated. Tenants do not always express it, but they do appreciate you. Your landlord appreciates you too. He may not always show it but he is grateful for all the hard work you do. Be thankful for job security. As we enter a recession, your job will not be affected. No matter what happens to the economy people still need a place to live and someone to care for the building. Those people are rental property managers, like you. You do not have to deal with the stresses that come from managing a large group of employees. You may have only one employee under your guidance. Employees are attached to problems. They come in late, sleep on the job, and leave early. Be thankful for the winter. You do not have to do landscaping this time of the year. It is one less job you have to worry about. Be thankful for modern technology. Rental property managers these days have property management software and real estate software to access information and perform business activities. Rental property managers should be thankful for making a decent living. It is no secret rental property managers make pretty good money. Be thankful for apartment rentals, condominiums, and homes for rent. Without them you would not have a job. Lastly, thank goodness for landlords. When you face an outraged tenant, you can always blame the issue on the landlord.

It does not have to be Thanksgiving to be thankful. You should be thankful all year round. Rental property managers can use this technique to reflect back on their job. Most likely you chose this profession because you like it somewhat. But within the madness we tend to forget why we got into this profession in the first place. So, to preserve your sanity, often reflect back to what you should be thankful for.
