Return on effort
Return on effort
- Welcome to the property management blog, our diary of the property management business. I am still at the self storage association conference on Las Vegas. I think I see one metric that many people don’t talk about. I think it is a reason some people choose self storage over other property uses. It takes a lot less effort to operate the rental of storage space than the rental of other uses. There is less customer contact. There are lower service expectations from tenants. There are less maintenance issues. This all creates a higher return on effort than with other property. This does not mean that it doesn’t take a lot of knowledge and expertise. But it does mean that there are a lot less “moving parts”. Now sometimes effort is a good thing. As you know the effort put into a nice development can reap enormous returns. But these returns do not come without effort. So look at the effort you and your staff are putting in. How can you maximize the return on that effort? bye for now, Tron
