A residential manager is the reason why some people rent an apartment or condo. They do all the work so you do not have to. Homeowners are responsible for everything in their homes. A residential manager takes care of all these things for the apartment renter. Plus, they run preventive maintenance checks to catch potential problems before they occur. While apartment tenants are at work, the residential manager is working for his tenants, so they can come home and relax in a well maintained apartment rental. So what does a residential manager do all day when his tenants are at work? He is doing everything that his tenants do not have time to do and do not want to do. They most know about city building codes and how to read blueprints. A residential manager must understand different construction types and know about building materials. They are required to be familiar with different types of machinery, including heating and air conditioning systems. And of course, a residential manager has to be skilled in drywall repair and painting. It helps if they can diagnose problems and prevent them from happening. Otherwise, how do you think everything gets fixed, from a magic ring? A residential manger has to be a people person. Often he will encounter projects that are too big for him to take on alone. So a residential manager will have to negotiate contracts for different types of services. Then they must oversee that the project is being done accurately with efficiency. A residential manager will have to interact with the apartment rental tenants and work with building owners. Otherwise, a residential manager is human just like all of us. He had dreams of becoming a professional athlete, hates algebra, and has a sense of humor. So do not be shy around your residential manager.
