Other uses of Property Management
- Property management is not limited to the home or the self storage property. Property management also extends to the hauling vehicle. How many times have you seen coolers, sofa cushions, or other furniture storage lying on the side of the road? All of these items on their way to self storage unit are a huge hazard for motorists and hassle for you if you’re the one losing valuable storage. Securing truckloads of furniture storage, motorcycle storage, and other types of storage is easy if you get the right gear. The recommendations listed below can help you secure these loads, whether you are hauling a motocross bike, motorcycle, furniture, building materials or recreational equipment. If you are hauling a motorcycle, a motocross bike, an ATV, or a four wheeler, solid tie downs are a must. Some truck beds come equipped with tie down mounting hardware. If not, you can easily install removable tie down hardware. Strapping down motorcycles, coolers, and furniture is good property management. It doesn’t matter how heavy a certain item is; it should be strapped with secure tie downs. As a property management, you might find yourself hauling your motorcycle storage into winter storage at a self storage unit. The difficulty here is getting the motorcycle into the back of the truck bed. Cargo ramps help you roll heavy items, such as a motorcycle, an ATV, a four wheeler, and a wheelbarrow, into the back of the truck. Property management can buy complete aluminum ramps or chose to make their own out of wood and a ramp end. With a sturdy yellow pine or Douglas fir, property management can attach a specially designed ramp lip to the end of the wood. Lips keep the ramp secure and even with the bed of the truck. These work great for motorbikes and wheelbarrows full of dirt or mulch. There are many types of straps and tie downs for your property management storage hauling needs. Heavy duty and quick straps are available in a variety of lengths, widths, and strengths. Bungee cords work well for small and light items, such as coolers, pool equipment, and camping gear, but may break or stretch with heavier items, like motorcycles. Straps prevent your storage objects from shifting and toppling over during the haul to the storage unit. Cargo nets are great for keeping light items, like sofa cushions, chairs, and inflatable toys from flying out of the bed. Small ones cover storage boxes in the back of the truck; larger cargo nets cover the entire truck bed. Storage cargo nets are perfect if you are hauling many small items to your storage unit. Instead of strapping down every storage item individually, you can secure them with one big net. The last property management tool for hauling storage items are quick release bars. These bars are available on the truck storage market. Quick release cargo bars keep storage boxes, storage bins, and coolers from sliding around in the back of the pick up truck and on the road. These bars are great for food storage or other bag storage items secure between the bar and the truck’s cab. Remember, property management begins in the hauling process and continues on at the storage unit. Make sure your storage makes it to the self storage unit safely.
