Miami Storage Units Save Precious Items
Storage facilities are a wonderful way to store those items you do not have room for but do not want to get rid of. Everyone has such things, an infant bed that a mother is saving for her grandchildren, items inherited from dad, or a wedding dress saved for future generations. No one ever knows what to do with these things they only know that throwing them away would be a cardinal sin.
As a young mother, I was always struggling with space. There never seems to be room for all the things a baby needs. The toys took over my living room, their clothes took over their closet and mine especially with a grandma who would pick up a new outfit each time she went out and the diapers seemed to reproduce overnight. Add this to the things the baby outgrew everyday and soon the house was overflowing with boxes and storing containers full of baby gear. I could not just throw those things away, however, because the packrat in me knew that another baby was right around the corner and all those things could be used again. This presented a big problem, especially since we lived in a small two bedroom apartment those days. That was when I was first introduced to storage facilities.
A few years later, with baby number two on the way, my dad in law passed away. This left us with an entire house full of belongings to sort through. When someone dies, it is hard to throw away even the most simplest of belongings. I witnessed my husband debating over whether or not to throw away the half finished crossword puzzle beside the bed of his dad. He simply could not part with any object that sparked a fond memory of his father. We ended up with furniture and collectibles that made our collection of baby gear look like an ant hill in comparison. Thank goodness for store room units. We were able to pick and choose what we wanted to keep and what to store. Then, over time, my husband slowly let the less sentimental things go.
Then there are things like a wedding dress. I did not wear a proper wedding dress to my wedding, so I do not have this particular problem. However, my sister-in-law did. My sister-in-law had the dress placed in a vacuum sealed bag. This bag was nearly four feet long, so stashing the dress in the back of a closet was not exactly convenient. Every time she moves, my sister-in-law worries about damage to the bag or dress. When they settle in their new home, one of the first things they worry about is where to put that dress. My brother always suggests just throwing it into the attic, but the dress could be damaged by the extreme temperatures up there. During their most recent move, I suggested storeplace units to my sister-in-law. This would provide a near permanent home for the dress and all the other souvenirs my sister-in-law has held onto from her wedding.
People collect a large assortment of stuff. When that stuff is always wrapped in sentiment, it is difficult to know what to do with it. It is then that a place like Miami storage units comes in handy.
