In the case of customer service, sales, even telemarketing, your attitude does determine how well you will do. There are several ways attitude or even the events of your day can affect your success. The first reason attitude is important is because it affects the overall tone of the call. Someone can hear in the call that you are having a bad day. They can tell because you will have less enthusiasm in your voice. I have been told that a customer can hear a smile. It is also true that the customer can hear a frown. Your attitude also affects the people around you. Sometimes others are can also tell whether you are having a bad day or not. That not only affects your performance, but it affects others as well. If you are having a bad day, here are a few suggestions to get you through it. My first suggestion is try to leave your troubles outside of the workplace. I know this is easier said than done. If you come to work with a positive outlook, chances are you will have a good day. Treat each day as a brand new day. My next suggestion is not to take it personally. Don’t let people get to you. If someone gets rude with you, just remember that it’s not you that they are mad at. Lastly, think of something funny. Post a favorite joke or think of a really funny memory that made you laugh. I know that sometimes that helps me get through the day. These things may help you get through the day with a positive attitude. If all else fails just get a hug.
